Terms of Service

Last updated 22 August 2026

Blackout Bros is a trading name (DBA) of Steamsy LLC, a California limited liability company. These terms are between you and Steamsy LLC trading as Blackout Bros.

Quotes and pricing

Prices shown on this site include the film, the installation, and us driving to you anywhere in San Diego County. There is no call-out charge.

They are accurate for a vehicle in normal condition. We confirm the final figure when we see the car and before we start any work. Where a job needs more time than a standard install — old film to remove, aftermarket glass, damage around the seals — we tell you the difference before we begin, not afterwards.

Booking and cancellation

Let us know as early as you can if you need to move an appointment. We'll do the same if weather makes a safe install impossible, since film cannot be fitted properly in rain or heavy wind at an open location.

Where we work

We need enough space to open the doors fully, and ideally shade or a garage. You are responsible for making sure we're allowed to carry out work at the location — some apartment complexes and business parks don't permit it.

California tint law

California limits how dark front side windows may be, and restricts windshield film to a strip along the top. We fit legal film to those positions as standard.

If you ask us to fit a darker film to a front window than the law permits, we will tell you it isn't legal for road use. Any citation, inspection failure or removal cost that follows is the vehicle owner's responsibility.

The vehicle's glass

We inspect the glass before we start and will point out anything we find. Chips, cracks, scratches, failing seals and factory-tinted glass that has already begun to fail can worsen during a normal install through no fault of the installer.

Removing old film — particularly from rear glass with defroster lines — carries a risk to those lines. We take every reasonable precaution, and we'll tell you before we start if a removal looks high-risk, but we can't guarantee the outcome of removing someone else's work.

Curing

Leave the windows up for three days after installation. Haze, small water pockets and a slightly cloudy look are normal while the film cures and clear on their own. Damage caused by rolling windows down early is not covered.

Warranty

Our films carry a lifetime warranty against bubbling, peeling, cracking, delamination and colour change, for as long as you own the vehicle. It is backed by the film manufacturer and honoured by us.

It does not cover scratches, damage from cleaning with ammonia-based products, damage caused by other work on the vehicle, or glass breakage. Use the cloth we leave with you.

The warranty covers replacing the film. It does not extend to other costs.

Text messages

If you tick the consent box on the quote form, you agree to receive automated text messages from Blackout Bros about your quote and your appointment. Ticking it is optional and consent is not a condition of purchase — you can get a quote and book a job without it.

Message frequency varies, up to 4 messages per job. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply. Reply STOP at any time to cancel, or HELP for help. We will not text you after you reply STOP.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your number.

Payment

Payment is due on completion unless we've agreed otherwise in writing.
